GIMI2US Sorozat - Hogyan készül egy autó? – Látogatásunk a Toyota Gyárban

A GIMI2US program hatodik napján ellátogattunk a Toyota gyárba, mely Princeton városa mellett található.

Első körben a Toyota Indiana Experience Centerbe mentünk be, ahol bemutatták a Toyota márka történelmét. Láttuk a legelső legyártott Toyota Tundrát kiállítva, illetve egy Lexust, amit a mai napig is gyártanak ott. 

És ezután következett a lélegzetelállító gyárbemutató. Olyan élményben volt részünk, amit turistaként nem lehet átélni. Lepakoltunk minden elektronikai eszközt és felültünk a golfkocsikra, amelyek végigvittek a gyár területén. Kaptunk fülhallgatót, amin végig hallgattuk a hölgy magyarázatát, aki elmagyarázta, hogy mit is látunk valójában.

Végig követhettük az autók teljes gyártási folyamatát, a legelső hajlított lemeztől, a szalagról leguruló autóig. A gyár nagyrésze automatizálva van, a nagyobb heggesztési folyamatokat ide-oda forgolódó hatalmas fehér robotok végzik, de a pontosságot megkívánó, apróbb műveleteket emberek végzik, de persze gépi segítséggel. Nagyon kedvesen fogadtak, az alkalmazottak integetettek is nekünk. 

A gyárlátogatás alatt, egy felejthetetlen élményben volt részem, ahol bele láttam egy olyan összetett folyamatba, amit az ember laikusként fel sem fog, hogy mennyi apró folyamat szükséges ahhoz, hogy egy autó működőképessé váljon. Az élmény pedig, amikor a körbevezetés végére érve a szalagról leguruló legfrissebb Toyotát megtapsoltuk és 'Happy birhtday!'-t kívántuk neki, az leírhatatlan. :)

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana

On the 6th day of the GIMI2US program we visited the Toyota factory, located near the town of Princeton.

First, we went to the Toyota Indiana Experience Center where we were introduced to the history of the Toyota brand. We saw the very first Toyota Tundra ever produced there, as well as a Lexus that is still being produced there to this day. 

And the breathtaking factory tour came only then. We had an experience that you can't get as a tourist. We put down all our electronic devices and got on the golf carts that took us around the factory. We were given earphones and listened to the lady explaining what we were actually seeing.

We were able to follow the entire production process of  the cars, from the very first bent plate to the car rolling off  the assembly line. Most of the factory is automated; the larger welding processes are carried out by huge white robots that rotate back and forth, but the smaller tasks requiring precision are performed by humans—of course, with the help of machines. We were received very kindly; the employees even waved at us.

During the visit to the factory, I had an unforgettable experience, where I saw a complex process that a layman would hardly realise, how many small processes are needed to make a car functional. And the experience of reaching the end of the tour, applauding the newest Toyota rolling off the production line and wishing it a 'Happy Birthday!'—that was indescribable. :)
